Time: 45 minutes Aims: After a lesson students should: • Know how to answer questions about the name of the objects • Familiarize with pieces of furniture • Understand the questions about the objects Teaching aids: headphones, CD player, sets of miniature pieces of furniture and boxes, pieces of paper and plasticine, materials in written form for those who can see enlarged print 1. The beginning of the lesson Teacher: - asks students about their mood - checks the homework - asks students to tell what they have learned during the last lesson Students: - answer the teacher’s questions 2. Main part introduces new vocabulary: table, chair, desk, bed - gives Polish equivalents of words and asks students to repeat new vocabulary Students: - listen and repeat new vocabulary Remarks: Headphones and CD player can be used to introduce the vocabulary and practice the pronunciation of the words. Those students who can see enlarged print or use Braille code should be provided with the written form of those words 3.Working with new material Teacher: - gives students sets of small pieces of furniture and wooden boxes with holes - asks students to touch and manipulate all those pieces of sets and try to put each piece of the set in the holes in the box - asks students to describe the shape of holes and - asks students to draw all new furniture using flat representation of these objects (the shapes of holes in the box) Students: - manipulate and try to put each piece of set in a proper hole - describe the shape of each hole - make their pictures Remarks: Students can make the images of furniture by means of plasticine 4.
