Facebook song

During the lesson students will listen to Facebook Song, which can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSnXE2791yg
The lyrics are easily obtainable - use a search engine and type "facebook song lyrics".

Lesson:
1) At the beginning of the lesson teacher asks students the following questions:
Social networks – what are they?
Do you know the most popular social networks in Europe?
Do you have a profile on facebook, myspace etc? Why/ why not?
Do you know facebook? What makes it different?

2) After a brief discussion students receive handouts with Facebook Song (with gaps). While listening to the song students will be asked to complete the gaps. It is up to the teacher to decide how many times will she/he play the song; this should be based on the group's level.
3)Students compare their answers in pairs; afterwards, the gaps are checked with the class.
4) Students are presented with another set of questions, these they discuss in groups and later present their opinions to the class:
What are pros and cons of using such websites?
What are the risks of social network websites?
How do we know we are not addicted to them?
What can we do to use such websites appropriately?

5) As homework students may be asked to provide their opinion on risks and benefits of such websites as facebook.
6*) Should there be enough time, students may enjoy translating the song into their mother tongue; this task, optinally, may be given as an additional homework.
